What We Do
The goal of Chicago Fellowship is to help men find authentic accountable relationships with other men and through these relationships become more God honoring stewards of their time, talent, resources, and influence. To assist men in accomplishing these purposes, Chicago Fellowship offers the following activities and opportunities:
Friday Forum – This is a weekly gathering of some forty to fifty men designed to be a place where men can fellowship with one another and interact with the truth of Scripture. This weekly gathering consists of Biblically based teaching led by one of the group’s members followed by interaction and discussion. From time to time, guest speakers are invited to challenge the group in reaching its goals.
Accountability Groups – These are groups of four to six men rooted in trust, respect, and complete confidentiality. Men need relationships with other men in order to reach their full God designed potential. Men need other men to whom they can tell their story; men need other men to challenge them and to ask them the hard questions, and men need other men who will “watch their back”. It is through these authentic friendships that men are able to help one another guard their marriages, their children, their values, their integrity, and their futures.
Strategic Service Opportunities and Ministry Partnerships – These are special service opportunities targeted by Chicago Fellowship and designed to help men become more intentional and strategic in the investment of their time, talent, resources, and influence. At present, Chicago Fellowship has formed strategic partnerships and affiliations with some fifteen established not-for-profit ministries. Chicago Fellowship encourages men to become involved in the support of these ministries in ways that are relational and involve their entire family. Chicago Fellowship believes that as men get involved in serving others in this “hands on” way, they develop relationships with those they serve that are mutually beneficial and enriching to both parties. We also believe these opportunities have the greatest impact on how we steward our lives, and they become the best way to pass the value of serving others on to our children.
Special Events – In addition to the above, Chicago Fellowship will sponsor a number of special events designed to support the mission of the Fellowship. Such events include an annual retreat, special speaker series open to the entire city, dinner meetings involving the men and their wives, service trip to Honduras, and participation in the annual New Canaan Society retreat in New York.
